One thing i think you should've also included though is that you have to know where your new product is in the landscape you are venturing in to. To be honest Blah Girls isn't anything revolutionary it is just about good marketing, big names and correct demographics, the interactivity part has been around for a while and is very simple and should actually be expanded upon. If he was anyone else this wouldn't have even got demopit consideration but he took advantage of the resources available to him (as you pointed out) and presented this to a room full of geeks.
